Our volunteers devote time and energy on top of their own busy lives to give girls the opportunity to learn, have fun, and grow in a positive, supportive environment.
Keeping up with girls’ ever-changing needs isn’t always easy, but because of you, we’ve got this!
Today’s girls need inspiration. They need role models and mentors. They need a sounding board for their innovative ideas and the knowledge that they’ll have help bouncing back if their plans don’t work out.
Girl Scouts is able to give them all this and more, thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers.
Adult Awards
Every day, GSCV volunteers help girls discover their full potential by providing opportunities that allow them to pursue their interests and passions, develop their leadership style and skills, and build cross-cultural connections and relationships that last a lifetime. Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia cherishes our volunteers and recognizes the valuable contribution they make in developing girl leaders.
Volunteer Awards are meant to recognize adult members who go above and beyond, resulting in exceeding the expectations of their positions and changing our organization, and even the world as we know it.

Adult Award Nominations
Do you know someone who deserves recognition?
Who has gone above and beyond as a volunteer? Who truly shows what it means to be a Girl Scout? Who makes a difference in the lives of girls, makes volunteering easier for adults and makes the Girl Scout Movement shine?
Show them how much they mean by nominating them for an adult award. It's easy:
- Any friend to Girl Scouts can be nominated. Most awards require that nominees be active, registered adult Girl Scouts in good standing.
- Anyone can nominate — girls, adults, volunteers, community members.
We also recognize Girl Scout volunteers for years of service and for combined years of members as a girl and as an adult member. Each year, volunteers have the opportunity to submit their Girl Scout membership years or years of service for service pins.
Girl Scout volunteers are the heart and soul of the Girl Scout Movement. Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia deeply values its volunteers for their contributions in developing girl leaders.
Adult award nominations are due by November 1st.
