Community partners are businesses and organizations in the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of VA's (GSCV) central Virginia area who have been approved by GSCV staff to offer Program events and activities to Girl Scout troops.
These businesses and organizations offer programmatic opportunities that align to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Each partnership’s offerings fit under at least one of our four program pillars: Life Skills, Outdoor, STEM, and Entrepreneurship.
Organizations that provide activities or events tailored to Girl Scout programs. These programs incorporate the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio which consists of The Girls’ Guide to Girl Scouting and the Girl Scout Leadership Journeys. Programs can be created to give girls the opportunity to complete part, or all, of a specific Journey or badge.
Organizations that provide activities or events such as shows, tours or games, with a discounted fee for Girl Scouts (and sometimes also for family members). These opportunities do not need to be tailored to the Girl Scout program but may include badge activities.
These partners are non-profit organizations that align with the Girl Scout mission and values and provide girls with the opportunity to serve their community.
Do you know the four pillars of Girl Scouting? Lots of people would answer that question with “I thought there were 3: cookies, camp, and crafts,” but Girl Scouts is so much more than that!
Girl Scouts of the USA has four Program Pillars that form the foundation of our program and our organization. And don’t worry, alums, they’ve been a part of Girl Scouts since the beginning!
