2014 Annual Reports (year ended September 30, 2014)
Dear Girl Scout Family and Friends,
Each year, we see the positive impact Girl Scouting has on girls in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Girl Scouts have opportunities to try new things, learn valuable skills and develop as leaders.
Each girl and troop’s experience is unique, allowing them to explore what matters most to them. Many discover a passion for science, while others head outdoors for adventure and camping.
We are delighted to report in 2014, Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia renewed our council charter through 2017, relocated our headquarters to the City of Richmond, conducted phase II of strategic learning, hosted the Girl Scout Leadership Institute and began upgrades to Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp. In addition, online enhancements to the fall product sale offered girls new ways to participate and increased overall sales.
With your continued engagement, we will continue to provide exemplary leadership experiences and lifelong skills that move our mission forward.
Together in Girl Scouting,
Barbara R. Bailey, Chair, Board of Directors
Viola O. Baskerville, J.D., Chief Executive Officer
