Pamunkey Ridge equestrian resident camp gives girls the opportunity to learn all aspects of the English riding discipline. Girls will also learn the basics of horse care and grooming. The equestrian staff has a wide variety of experience and knowledge. Some staff are from local areas; others travel from as far as England and Germany. Girls will also take part in traditional camp activities and be assigned cabins according to age. On the last day of the camp session, a horse show will be held at

4 days and 3 nights For Younger Beginner Riders For girls entering grades 2-6 This is the perfect program for younger, beginner riders that are not ready for a full week of camp. Girls will be grouped by riding level, and learn the basics of riding and caring for a horse.

9 days and 8 nights For Older Advanced Riders For girls entering grades 6-12 Calling all experienced riders! This program is for you, let’s ride! This is a wonderful opportunity for girls who are comfortable riding at walk, trot and canter. These girls will expand their stable management knowledge, work on their jumping ability and much more. Older girls will be introduced to the techniques of instruction.
Session 3-Wild Wild West July 6-11
6 days and 5 nights For Western Riders For girls entering grades 6-12 Your girls will enjoy this week of riding like Roy Rogers and Dale Evans! Girls will learn and develop their skills in Western riding and the care of horses.
Session 4-Off You Trot July 13-18
6 days and 5 nights For Beginner and Intermediate Riders For girls entering grades 3-6 This is the perfect program for younger beginner and intermediate riders. Girls will be grouped by their riding level. (Intermediate riders are those who can walk and trot unassisted.)
Session 5-Horseshoes and Hay July 20-25
6 days and 5 nights For Beginner and Intermediate Riders For girls entering grades 3-12 This is the perfect program for younger beginner and intermediate riders. Girls will be grouped by their riding level. (Intermediate riders are those who can walk and trot unassisted.)
Session 6 -Take the Reins July 27-Aug 1
6 days and 5 nights For Older Beginner and Intermediate Riders For girls entering grades 5-12 This is a fantastic opportunity for the older beginner and intermediate riders. As in the earlier sessions, girls are grouped by riding level. The girls will learn how to care for a horse, and the techniques of English riding.
