Girl Scout Camp Kittamaqund is located on a 387-acre site, with five miles of shoreline along the Great Wicomico River. Camp Kittamaqund features 4 living units, enclosed shelters for inclement weather, a modern dining hall, swimming pool, arts & crafts building, and a large sports field.
Resident Camp Check-in: Campers check-in between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the opening day of their camp session. Parents and guardians are asked to stay with their daughters until the check-in procedure is completed (2 hrs. estimated).
Girl Scout resident camp is the place for fun, excitement and adventure. With a wide variety of programs, there is something for every girl. Camping activities for all age levels include: · Swimming at the pool each day · Canoeing or paddle boating at least once per session · Preparing a meal of your own outdoors · Singing and acting at an all-camp campfire · Creating arts and crafts projects · Environmental education activities · Taking responsibility for keeping the campsite clean
For girls entering grades 4-6 As the moon comes up and camp settles down, explore the mysteries of the night. Stay up late or stargaze. Do Yoga, take a night hike, follow animal tracks, or plan a late night feast and sleep in at least one morning during the week. Enjoy swimming every day, canoeing, and working on the Sky Search badge.

For girls entering grades 4-6 Travel back in time to the youthful pioneering days of American girls Kristen and Addy! You’ll weave a basket, churn butter, make a rag doll, and tend a camp garden during your week at camp. Work on your Folk Arts badge.

For girls entering grades 4-6 Are you interested in painting, sculpture and design? Do you love to create beautiful works of art? Would you love to try new mediums? Get an introduction into several different mediums and begin to hone your artistic skills. You will also enjoy other camp activities including canoeing, rock climbing, and swimming.

For girls entering grades 4-6 Learn your way around a kitchen. You will have lots of fun making your own creations as you stir, beat, mix and bake delicious, healthy dishes. You’ll even get to try your hand at cooking outdoors.

For girls entering grades 11-12 Put your outdoor know-how and leadership experience into action in this two-year program. During year one, the first two weeks will be spent polishing your camp craft skills, exploring program development and learning leadership skills. For the remainder of the time, you will put these skills to use in an internship with younger campers. The CIT II program includes a week of more in-depth leadership training and a two-week internship with younger campers. CIT I training, given through any Girl Scout council is the prerequisite for CIT II.

Feel the wind on your face as you travel by kayak down one of Virginia’s many rivers. Girls will travel for an out of camp (3 day, 2 nights) adventure. Have fun fishing and listening to the sounds of nature. Once you have returned to camp, you can enjoy all that Camp Kitty has to offer.

Find your favorites and put your art in a show for the whole camp to see! Spend 10 days creating your own masterpiece in this great camp program. You will also take a day trip to Richmond or Washington, DC, for a museum tour to see different artists’ work.

Don’t forget about all of the other cool activities that you will still get to do at camp, like swimming every day, cooking out, kayaking, and hanging out with your new friends. Tents, Canoes And Kayaks Oh My! June 15-24

Prerequisites: Girls must have completed “Paddlers” or have equivalent experience, must be able to swim 50 yards continuously and tread water for 5 minutes.
Travel off camp! Be on the water for hours! Does this sound like fun? Then this is the program for you! We will go off site for the adventure you seek (4 days, 3 nights). You will sleep in tents and cook your own meals. However, it does not end there for you aquatic girls. In this program, you will spend hours on the river. Have fun fishing and listening to the sounds of nature. NOTE: This session may be cancelled if minimum participation level is not reached.

For girls entering grades 7-12 Discover the challenge of low-ropes courses and rock wall climbing in this week-long adventure. You will still enjoy swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, and playing.

Prerequisites – Must be able to swim 5 lengths of the pool and tread water for at least 5 minutes and have documented canoeing experience. Participation in Paddlers first is strongly encouraged, but not required.
Take the skills you learned in Paddlers and Set Your Sail to new heights. Spend more time on the river perfecting your “J-stroke” and your tacking abilities. Take a trip to test your skills, and have super fabulous camp fun.
