Council Sponsored Product Sales Programs
The Girl Scout Cookie Program launched in 1917 and has grown into a leading business and economic literacy activity for girls. Now we're doing it better than ever with national, outcomes-based program activities that give girls ages 5 -17 the specific knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values that will make them leaders in their own lives and in their communities. |
|
The Girl Scout Cookie Program, along with the Fall Nut Sale Program, offers girls the opportunity to Discover their own skills, Connect through teamwork and to Take Action through community service projects funded by troop proceeds.
Girls participate in carefully developed, age appropriate activities that help develop skills that they can apply throughout their lives. Although participation is voluntary, the vast majority of Girl Scouts
enjoy this fun-filled and rewarding experience. |

| Proceeds enable Girl Scout Commonwealth Council of Virginia, Inc. to maintain and operate Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp and Camp Kittamaqund, as well as council facilities in Midlothian, West End Richmond, Mechanicsville, Fredericksburg and Colonial Heights. Girl Scout troops retain a portion of the proceeds and the girls, through the democratic process, decide how to spend the money they've earned. |
